New York baby!

Back at the beginning of April Me, Papa & Jess (sister) took a  trip to the big apple! All I can is it was AMAZING!

As we arrived in the evening of Monday we decided we'd hit up the top of the rock straight away. We got up to the 70th floor just in time to see the sunset (how lucky!) it was a wonderful. I guess that's the reason why we stayed there for about 3 hours! just 3 hours looking over the city, we were taking it all in.

NIGHT ONE.

Rockefella from the sidewalk (pavement ha). picture perfect sunset. view at night ft. empire state, cheesy one  of me & Jess, the two most important people. all of the lights.

blackbirds & roses

My names Alicia , I’m 17 years old from Cambridge, United Kingdom. I adore fashion and thrifting, just everything vintage and quirky. some days i like to be girly with florals others abit grungey and you will see that on posts. I am lacking in confidence but creating this i hope i can gain that. being interested in fashion reporting/styling/journalism I thought designing a blog would help be gain skills i need to be what I want in the future. This blog is a trend report at fashion shows or just in general in upcoming seasons and outfits I wear and abit of my lifestyle via instagram (aliciaemily). I am constantly inspired by things around me which conclude in my fashion illustrations. I would love to share my inspirations and my outfits to inspire other people and to just be yourself.I started this blog last year but never got around to updating it due to revision exams etc. Starting a blog I find is hard, knowing what to put and how to gain followers but I suppose I have to start some time and the sooner the better. absolutely love reading blogs, especially llymlrs, milkteef, ghostparties, beautycrush, dollybowbow and loads more! they inspired me to start my own and as I am studying fashion & clothing at college creating a blog is a good way to "get out there". I thought I would start my blog properly with an outfit post :)

I love this very baggy crop top which I have neglected and found at the bottom of my wardrobe! uuh oh. But this print is so springy and fabulous. I am a sucker for anything with birds on and my wardrobe (and room) is full of birdies.  This top is too short to wear on its own so teaming it with a shirt underneath with a collar is perf, i have been wearing collar tops alot (especially my trusty white vintage blouse) recently because they are so easy to wear and with a collar necklace just livens up the shirt. Also wearing a gorg coral lippy by mac (Vegas volt) which is my fave lipstick I wear throughout spring/summer.
I will dedicate more time to my blog but it becoming to the end of first year it is pretty hectic but I will update once a week at the mo!
Tell me what you think :)

TREND WATCH: AT LONDON FASHION WEEK

Metallics are everywhere in fashion right now. Clothing, accessories and make-up all have a little sheen to them. And Metallics are most definitely everywhere at London Fashion Week for A/W 12.

With many designers bringing molten-like metallics they are making their presence known, in form of dresses and skirts.

Most designers combined variations of silver and gold, the trend experiencing an inspirational combination of colour thanks to design superstars like Antoni Berardi who infused luxurious tones of turquoise blue. Berardi presented a collection of beautiful shapes and curves, sculpted to the body: a sophisticated way to wear metallics. Berardi’s A/W collection was a little fiercer using column dresses embellished with sequins which resembled chest plates, giving a futuristic warrior like feel.

Issa London - A/W 12 collection

Most designers made the metallic embellishment on their outfits look dainty, feminine and elegant. Like Issa London, who used a “fit and flare” structured dress with double layering to emphasise the figure of the model. I really love this dress and is my favourite from her A/W collection. I love the fitting of the dress; complete with a rich paisley pattern with the duck egg blue satin finish gives it a reflective metallic feel.

Felder Felder - A/W 12 collection

This chunky knit jumper in this gorgeous blush pink/nude colour clashes beautifully with the rose gold metallic leather skater skirt designed by Felder Felder . This outfit is quite muted itself and it’s nothing innovative, but it’s so cute.

Jason Conran - A/W 12 collection

Jason Conran’s A/W collection is full of bronzy brown colours which is great because it’s not at all boring with the glisten of the metallics. I like the texture of this piece, you can tell what sort of material it is by looking at the image, and even though it’s metallic it seems a quite matte material.  I love the detail of the bow and where it’s placed, instead of a collar. I’m not to sure about the silhouette and the style of the dress; I just think it doesn’t look right with the bow and then the drop down waist.

red lips & peter pan..

So I'm new to this whole blogging thing, I'm quite confused by this & how it works but I'm going to be a dedicated blogger.  Most of my blog posts will be fashion related and outfits I adore dearly, here's one now! I'm absolutely in love with peter pan collars, they are so cute they just add a bit of 1960's vintage to an outfit which i love! These tops are what I will be searching for spring/summer 11. this top is an item of clothing I want so badly never felt this before about a top, craaazy-azzy! Although the colours are quite dark the sleeveless just makes it gorgeous! (even though I hate my arms!)
